| Fruit growers express gratitude | | |
JAMMU: All the fruit growers of J&K state have expressed their gratitude to government of Jammu and Kashmir particularly Ghulam Nabi Azad, Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed former Chief Minister and Mohammad Dillawar Mir, Minister for Horticulture, Tourism, PHE and irrigation for fulfillment of long pending demand for increasing the support price for C-grade apple from Rs 4 to Rs 5 per kg as per the decision taken in the cabinet. The fruit growers said that the increase in support price for C-grade apple would give boost to the horticulture industry which is able to dispatch over 7.60 lakhs metric tonnes of fruit to the different terminal markets of the country. They said that this increase would also extent benefit to the marginal and small fruit growers of the state.
