Udhampur Dec29- Director Urban Local Bodies, Jammu has suspended the resolution/ proceedings of Municipal Council, Udhampur with regard to no-confidence motion against the President of the Council, Ashok Kumar Gupta.
According to the order, Section 25 (2) of the J&K Municipal Act, 2000 was not complied with and the proceedings of the Municipal Council Udhampur dated December 14, 2009 with regard to no confidence motion against the President, were not in accordance with the provision.
"Neither the deliberation in respect of carrying out the requisition for vote of no confidence against the President has taken place nor do the proceedings indicate about conducting of voting either by any means as well as no such resolution with regard to the removing of President has been passed". In view of these facts, the Director Urban Local Bodies, in exercise of powers vested in him under Section 264 of the J&K Municipal Act, 2000 has suspended the resolution/ proceedings held on December 14, 2009 with regard to no confidence motion against the President of Municipal Council Udhampur, Ashok Kumar Gupta
