Expressing grave concern over the Justice Sagir’s report on centre-state relations and terming its as political motivated and prepared on the dictates of NC-Congress leader, former BJP state president Dr. Nirmal Singh has called upon the countrymen to be ready for a decisive battle for the rights of nationalist forces in Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing party delegates at a one day convention here today organized to make people aware of the adverse affects of the report, Dr. Singh said BJP will not allow any more division of the state on the name of autonomy or self rule. Instead of recommending proper and immediate delimitation for grant of due political representation to Jammu in the report, Justice Sagir has only endorsed what the National Conference has been stressing not to undertake delimitation till 2026, he pointed out.
Demanding abrogation of Article-370 which is the main obstacle in way of ensuring full integration of the State with rest of the country he appealed people to be ready for decisive battle for the rights of Jammu ties in future .
Following the recommendations of PM’ Working group on Centre-State relations, Bhartiya Janta Party is likely to float a “new saffron proposal” for the resolution of vexed Kashmir issue and the party high command has authorized senior BJP leader Nirmal Singh to draft the document. Nirmal Singh said we’re going to float a new proposal for resolving Kashmir issue and in the near future the document will become ready for submission to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. He said they would suggest abrogation of Article 370 in their proposal.
Party senior leader Prof Chaman Lal Gupta said delimitation is one of the major requirements for healthy democracy and Justice Sagir Ahmed only worked to weaken the democracy. He cautioned that freezing the delimitation till 2026 will also harm the interests of the Jammu ties and will give fuel to demands like separate statehood for Jammu. Maintaining that “Article 370 was the main problem in Jammu and Kashmir and its abrogation was the need of the hour to strengthen the Centre-State relations,” he said, he said “We will also raise voice against disparity in assembly and parliamentary seats in Kashmir and Jammu regions.”
Condemning holding of a secret dialogue between New Delhi and leaders of the Hurriyat Conference, Singh said there was no need to talk with those who abuse India.
Terming the autonomy an agenda of ruling National Conference, State Secretary Pawan Gupta and Bladev Raj, MLA said people of Jammu and Kashmir had diverse ideologies and added that very few people supported autonomy. He said the proposal was a hoax and urged people not to trust people with double ideologies. They appealed workers to be united so that a deceive battle against discrimination with Jammu could be launched in future.
