| Adbi Kunj pays glowing tributes to Ghalib | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 29- Glowing tributes were paid to famous Urdu and Persian poet Assad Ullah Khan Ghalib on his birthday at a composite literary cum poetic meet held by the Adbi Kunj at its literary centre New Shastri Memorial which was presided over by Tayyab Bhart , a well known poet and writer. The speakers highlighted the outstanding contribution of Ghalib to Urdu poetry in the first session of the meet. On this occasion, Talib Kashmiri, General Secretary informed the participants about the activities of Adbi Kunj during the year 2009 likely to conclude this week and also gave brief account of the organization in the ensuing year 2010.On this occasion all those writers and poets who departed during the year 2009, especially Nargis Sitara, Vice President, Adbi Kunj were remembered and tributes paid to them. Tayyab Bharti read out a special write-up on the occasion of ‘Yom-e-Hussain’ titled “Azmat-e-Shohda-i-Kiraam” an effective representation of the happenings in the battlefields of Karbala. Talib Kashmiri presented his Urdu short story titled “Qasoorwar”, the sordid tale of a Government officer who falls prey to the cancerous system of corruption losing in the process both his own and his loved one’s life. .S. Kamra read a Hindi story captioned “Swami Ji” while Sham Talib presented a satirical Urdu sketch titled “Ghalib Se Ek Mulaqat”. In the poetry session Tayayab Bharti,Maharaj Krishen, Rajiv Kumar, M. S. Kamra, Rajeshwar Bhakri Com. Jaswant Singh, Daya Ram Daya, O. P. Shakir, Sushil Begana, Rakesh Kumar Tript and Sham Talib read out their poems and ghazals.
