| Dwivedi reviews Gurupurb arrangements | | | Early Times report JAMMU, DEC 29: District Development Commissioner, Jammu M. K. Dwivedi today convened a meeting of officers to finalize the arrangements for the ensuing procession on Shri Guru Govind Singh jis Birthday falling on January 2, 2010. The representatives of District Gurdwara Parbandak Committee also participated in the meeting. DDC Jammu enjoined upon the officers of concerned departments to work in close coordination to ensure smooth conduct of Gurpurb procession. He asked the PHE department to deploy three water tankers enroute the procession and also directed the CMO to deploy one Ambulance. He asked the traffic department to make adequate arrangements for parking of vehicles to minimize chances of traffic jam. He instructed the PHE and PWD to ensure barricading at the venue of religious function at Gurdwara Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Chand Nagar, on January 5th, 2010 as per past practice. He said that Fire Services will keep a Fire tender at the venue on Gurupurb. The DDC asked the President, District Gurdwara Parbandak Committee to arrange volunteers during the procession for ensuring fool-proof security. He said that medical facilities will also be provided during the procession. Health Officer JMC was asked to ensure cleanliness of the route. The meeting was informed that the procession will start from Gurdwara Singh Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Chand Nagar, Jammu at 10 a.m. taking the route via Swami Vivekanand Chowk, Gumat Crossing, Dogra Chowk, Bikram Chowk, Asia Hotel, Green Belt Park Gandhi Nagar, Gandhi Nagar District Hospital Road, Gole Market, F. C. I. Depot, Shiva Chowk, Khalsa Chowk and will culminate at Gurdawara Sri Guru Singh Sabha Nanak Nagar, Jammu by 5 pm. Among others SSP, Jammu, Tehsildar Jammu, officers from Security, Traffic, PHE, PDD, Fire Services, PWD, JMC were also present in the meeting.
