| 25 volunteers donate blood at Sarwal camp | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, DEC 27: Minister for Health, Horticulture and Floriculture, Mr. Sham Lal Sharma inaugurated a blood donation camp, organized by the Health Department today at Sarwal Hospital here. In all 25 persons including students of Ayurvedic College, Jammu, Softlab, a local Study Centre of Punjab Technical University and doctors of Health Department donated the blood. The Minister also inaugurated a Blood Storage unit in the hospital to preserve and stock adequate quantity of blood. This will facilitate the Hospital authorities to meet the emergencies while conducting various types of surgeries. Appreciating the gesture of the donors, the Minister said that blood donation is supreme donation which saves the precious human lives. He stressed for organizing more such blood donation camps at regular intervals so that adequate quantity of blood could be stocked in the Blood Bank. He emphasized the need for creating awareness among the masses to generously donate the blood to save precious lives. The Minister also inspected the functioning of the Hospital and took stock of the facilities available there. He interacted with the patients and enquired about the treatment being provided by the Hospital. He issued instructions to the Medical Superintendent to ensure proper cleanliness in and around the Hospital and further improve the medicare to the patients. Director Family Welfare, Dr. Kulbushan Pandotra, Director Health Services, Jammu, Dr. Jasbir Singh and other concerned officers of Health Department were present on the occasion.
