| Mian assures amenities to Behra Dhammi villagers | | | Early Times Report Jammu December 29:- Minister for Forest and Environment, Mian Altaf Ahmed today visited Behra Dhammi, Nagrota. A large number of people met the Minister and apprised him about the problems of their respective areas. Interacting with the people, the Minister said that their genuine problems will be mitigating in a phased manner . On the occasion the Minister planted a tree in the premises of a Government School. The people demanded upgradation of Middle School Dhammi to High School, as already announced by the former Chief Minister, Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad. They also demanded adequate water supply, upgradation of roads, improvement in electricity, implementation of IAY scheme in the area. The people also demanded issuance of BPL ration cards to deserving families as about 60% population of the areas ST/SC and no BPL Ration card has been issued in the area. The Minister listen their problems patiently and appealed the people and said that come forward and fight for their cause and asked them to understand your importance you are the people who elected us and we are always with you to fight the cause. He assured the people that IAY scheme will be implemented very soon in the area , adding the matter will be taken up with the concerned ministry. He said that centre would be demanded to implement fully the reservation quota for ST in Central Government Offices. He said bringing Behra Dhammi under the ambit of water shed development prograrmmes has been taken up with the centre. Among others DFO, Jammu, DFO, Social Forestry, DFO, Soil Conservation, Jammu, Executive Engineer, PHE, Executive Engineer, Irrigation and Block Development Officer, Nagrota and prominent leaders of the area will present on the occasion.
