Early Times Report
Jammu Dec 29
A meeting of JKNPP was convened today by Harsh Dev Singh vice-chairman JKNPP to review the public response to the bandh call given by the party against the highly pernicious and preposterous Report of the Fifth Working Group and to further decide the course of action.
The meeting while expressing its gratitude to the public and all organizations that supported the bandh call resolved to fight out the highly biased treatment doled out to Jammu region and the desperation of NC-Congress combine to reverse the calendar by 57 years in the name of Autonomy. Members in this meeting flayed the obsession of ruling alliance for restoration of pre-53 position in the name of Autonomy and said that Jammu region had amply demonstrated in Yesterday’s bandh that any attempt at anti-clock wise movement would face stiff resistance from all secular and nationalist forces.
The meeting further decided that a party delegation led by Harsh Dev Singh and comprising party MLAs Balwant Singh Mankotia MLA, Yashpaul Kundal MLA and MLC Syed Rafiq Shah along with others would leave for New Delhi to hold demonstrations in the national capital and also to apprise the Prime Minister of the highly biased, farcical and fraudulent Report.
Addressing the meeting Mr. Harsh Dev Singh said that the party would apprise the national leadership about the unilateral finalization of the Working Group Report and abuse of the said forum by the ruling National Conference for furtherance of its political motive. Singh who chaired the meeting also said the party delegation would further request the Prime Minister to convene a Round Table Conference for a thread bare and in-depth discussion on all of the aforesaid issues besides demanding an enquiry into the highly mischievous and fraudulent presentation of the working group report by its secretary to the Chief Minister.
