Govt Employees observe complete strike in Rajouri

Responding to the call of token strike called by the Employees Joint Action Committee pen down strike, various trade union leaders and employees associations activists Wednesday held candle protest at various offices in Rajouri wherein they pressed for fulfillment of agreed demands.
Protestors led by Chairman of Jammu & Kashmir Teachers Forum for Rajouri Poonch region Shahbaz Khan staged protest at Deputy Commissioner Office Rajouri.
Addressing the employees, Shahbaz Khan said that they are showing light to government so that they awake and fulfill the demands of the employees. Reiterating the demands, Khan said that they want the government to provide them agreed 40 percent cash arrears of sixth pay commission, pensionary benefits after 25 years, enhancement of retirement age from 58 to 60 and regularization of daily wagers.
He also assured full support to Abdul Qayoom Wani, Khursheed Alam Khan, Ganesh Khajuria and Girdhari Lal Chanda in their fight for pressing the demands of the employees.
Meanwhile a protest rally was also organized at Chief Education Officer Rajouri where Tanveer Shawl, President of State Teachers Association addressed the gathering. He said that the employees are united to get the justice from the government and if the government will continue to delay the agreed promise, they will again come to the streets and hold protest demonstration.
Other leaders of employees who spoke on the occasion included Manzoor Khan, District President RET Teachers Association, Rohit Gupta, Shiv Kumar Dutta, Zafar Iqbal, Muzafer Iqbal and Ram Lal. All these leaders visited the government offices and ensure complete pen down strike.
The strike was also observed in Thanamandi, Budhal, Kotranka, Nowshera, Kalakote, Mnjakote, Poonch, Mendher and Surankote where the employees hold protests and demanded to fulfill their agreed demands at the earliest.
