Early Times Report
Jammu Dec 30
Harsh Dev Singh, Jammu Kashmir national Panther Party (JKNPP) MLA and its Chief Spokesperson has urged upon the Finance Minister to take cognizance of the misuse of State Aircraft by the Coalition Ministers for personal and political purposes at the cost of State Exchequer and termed it as a financial irregularity and violation of austerity measures.
In a press statement JKNPP Chief spokesperson stated that State Aircraft and Helicopters had been misused by the Coalition Ministers for quite sometime and even the State Vigilance Organisation had given adverse findings and reports in this regard in the past. He deplored non-initiation of action in any of the cases as the perpetrators of offence were all occupying high offices and hence enjoyed immunity from all kinds of legal proceedings which had resulted in unabated violations in respect thereof.
Reminding the Finance Minister of his recently issued statements as well as the government order issued on December 7, 2009 pertaining to financial discipline and austerity measures, Singh said that it was an acid test for Finance Minister to act against all those ministers who had violated the financial code and contravened the austerity measures so loudly proclaimed by him. He further reminded the Finance Minister of his tall claims of ‘Zero Tolerance’ in case of fiscal indiscipline and financial irregularity of any kind whatsoever brought to his notice.
Singh said that it was ironical that on the one hand, the government was finding it difficult to pay the wage and salary bills of the employees and even those of the daily wagers, the ministers were frittering away the scarce resources for their personal jaunts and for furtherance of their political motives.
Urging upon the Finance Minister to take cognizance of all such financial lapses and irregularities, Harsh Dev Singh said that appropriate proceedings were required to be initiated as the helmsmen were violating the financial code with impunity.
