| Justice Sageer did injustice to Ladakh : HBCA | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 30–––– Strongly condemning the working group report on Centre-State Relations rejecting the demand of Union Territory Status to Ladakh, Himalayan Buddhist Cultural Association (HBCA) president Tashi Targis on Wednesday termed it unfortunate that no one from Lakdakh region was invited as member of the working groups and hence rejection the demand is totally politically motivated. Talking to media persons here today at Press Club, Targis said report seems to be prepared under the influence of Congress and National Conference, as both these parties have taken an anti-Ladakh stand and never utter a single during the last 25 years for the fulfillment of demands of the Ladakhis. Reiterating the demand of Union territory status for Ladakh, he appealed all political parties to support the demands of UT Status for Ladakh. “How Justice Sahgir’s outrightly rejected our demands if they were not invited in fifth Working Groups on Centre-State Relations?”, he questioned and added, ‘There are nationalists people and their region Ladakh is an integral part of Jammu and Kashmir, how the region was ignored in WGs’ . “Successive state government failed to mitigate the sufferings of coldest regions”, he said and rejecting the claims from Minister for Tourism and Culture Nawang Rigzin Zora that ‘Ladakh gets due share in development, he said that the Minister can’t misled the people of Ladakh as they are worst sufferers and the best judges of ground reality prevailing in Ladakh region. Highlighting the demands of Ladakh, he said the Ladakhi people struggling from last 25 years for their demands of including Bhoti language in 8th schedule of Indian constitution, reopening of Kailesh Mansorvar Road via Leh-Ladakh and freedom of Tibet from illegal occupation of China but it is unfortunate neither Centre Govt nor State Govt have ever given sympathetic look to their demands. Referring to the recent incursion of China in Leh-Ladakh and Arunachal Pradesh, Tashi Targis raised apprehension over the silent attitude of the Union Govt in this connection which speaks of its weak foreign policy.
