Jammu, Dec 30: To apprise the younger generation of Mahajan community about the qualities and achievements of late Justice Mehar Chand Mahajan, the Mahajan Sabha, Gandhi Nagar in collaboration with greater Jammu central Mahajan Sabha is organizing a function of January 3, 2010 to be held at Mahajan park.
As per press release late Mahajan was born on 23rd December 1889 and became the first prime minister of Jammu and Kashmir in September 1947 and later took office as third chief justice of India of January 4, 1954.
He was an active members including Mahajan Sabha. He became the president of Akhil Bhartiya Mahajan Shiromani Sabha in 1929.
SS Salathia minister for I&C, Raman Bhalla minister for revenue and rehabilitation Kavinder Gupta, mayor of Jammu Municipal Corporation Subash Gupta, MLC and Naresh Gupta, and Rajiv Mahajan grandson of Justice Mehar Chand Mahajan has consented to be present on the occasion.
Other office bearers of the Sabha Jagdish Vaid, Chanan Shah, PC Gupta, Dr. Krishan Lal Gupta, Surinder Gupta, Prof. Sameer Gupta, BL Gupta, Dharam Pal Gupta, Raman Gupta, Bansi Lal Gupta Corporator, Yash Paul Gupta and Naresh Gupta were also present at the press conference.
