| NSS volunteers launch cleanliness drive in Ved Mandir | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 30- NSS Units of GGM Science College (both morning and evening) launched a cleanliness drive in Ved Mandir Bal Niketan Jammu as a part of their special camp program. Volunteers also organized a debate on the topics relating to empowerment of the children, child labour and child rights. On this occasion Capt. Parshotam Sharma highlighting the ills of the society and propounding the suitable measures. During their interaction with the orphan children, the volunteers held coaching classes laying emphasis on moral values. They made the children happy and acquainted the children with matters relating to physical, intellectual, emotional and academic well-being. There are 101 orphan children in the two Niketans which includes 31 girl children. Of these 70 percent hail from the militancy areas of Doda, Kishtwar, Bhaderwah and Udhampur. Rohit Wali and Ashutosh Sharma NSS Commanders, heading the volunteers, took the inmates to Manda Wild Life Sanctuary and shared edibles with the orphan children and also celebrated the birthday of girl child Sheetal Sharma. The volunteers also decided to visit Vridhashram at Ambphalla to interact with the inmates there.
