| Court awards 2 yrs imprisonment in accident case | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 30- In an accident case the Special Excise Mobile Magistrate Jammu Suneet Gupta awarded two years imprisonment and fine of Rs 1000 to accused Ravi Kumar Driver u/s 304-A RPC. After hearing Senior Prosecuting Officer Anil Dev Jamwal appearing for the state and Advocate Brij Mohan Gupta appearing for the accused Driver and after gone through the case and statements of the witnesses, Mobile Magistrate observed that the Court is of the considered opinion that prosecution has been sufficiently able to prove the guilt of the accused for the commission of offence u/s 304-A RPC beyond all reasonable doubts. As such the accused is convicted for the said offence and awarded two years imprisonment and fine of Rs 1000 to the accused. The accused, who was present in the Court, was taken into custody and sent to District Jail Jammu for the sufferance of sentence period. On April 1, 2002 the Incharge PP Nehru Market received information that a Bus bearing registration NO JK02A-4427, being driven by a unknown person in a rash and negligent manner struck with a bicycle rider namely Ram Lal son of Chajju Ram of Kulian Satwari Jammu, who sustained serious injuries. He was shifted to GMC Hospital and later succumbed to his injuries. The driver, however, fled away from the spot with his vehicle. JNF
