| Harsh questions the circuitous route of Justice Sageers report to PMO | | | Early Times Report Jammu Dec 31 Harsh Dev Singh, NPP MLA and its Chief Spokesman has questioned the locus standi of the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah in submitting the report of the fifth Working Group’ to the Prime Minister. According to party spokesperson in Delhi stated the party leader Harsh Dev Singh said equally intriguing was the mysterious quietness and silence on the part of the Chairman of the Group Justice (retd.) Sageer Ahmed over the whole issue and said the Working Group having been duly constituted by the Prime Minister to aid and advise him with regard to Central-State and other related issues including intra-state, regional and sub-regional issues was supposed to convey its findings and deliberations directly to the Prime Minister. Harsh Dev Singh who was in New Delhi, along with party Legislators urged upon the Prime Minister, who had allowed time to Omar Abdullah on the Report, to convene a meeting of all the members of the Working Group so that the true nature of deliberations of the Group could be brought to his notice. He said that it was opposed to propriety and in defiance of all logic that the Chairman maintaining distance from the Report and keeping himself aloof not only from the media and the Working Group members but also from the Prime Minister to whom he was directly responsible and accountable for submission of the Report. Meanwhile, the NPP legislators held a meeting in New Delhi and decided to launch demonstrations from January 1, 2009 in protest against the highly biased, parochial and fraudulent document and against the highly differential and hostile treatment doled out to Jammu region by the Centre as well as the State governments. The party would also submit a memorandum to Prime Minister in this regard
