| Cabinet Panel on industrial issues still awaited | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 31 The Government's plan to create a standing forum in the form of an inter-ministerial group of officers in association with the all stake holders for resolving various problems being faced by industrialists in Jammu and Kashmir is yet to be materialized. As back as August last the Finance Minister, A R Rather, announced that the forum will be created following usual problems being highlighted by trade and industry. It had been decided that the forum will into the desirability of dispensing with some of the mandatory inspections, filing of returns and other connected matters faced by the industrialists under various laws including barriers in free movement of raw materials and trade goods. The creation of the forum was expected to improve the trade and industry environment in the state, sources said. ‘But the inordinate delay in the creation of the forum is said to have delayed improvement in the industrial environment, they added. According to reports besides the threat of militants industrial houses from outside the state have not felt enthused in setting up units in the state because of procedural difficulties being faced by them right from securing clearance from various Government agencies. Meanwhile looking a silver line in the above said forum some industrialists in the state have asked for the creation of forum at earliest so that the problems of industrial sector be resolved
