AIDS workers strike in 12th day

The indefinite Strike of the Contractual employees of J&K State AIDS Control Society has entered into 12th day across in support of their demands.
The protesting employees reiterated their demands including Regularization of Employees engaged on contract basis in AIDS Control Society, Salary of employees at par with the central Govt. Employees, 6th Pay Commission benefits right from April 2006, Yearly increments, Special incentives for highly qualified non technical employees like M.Phill, PHD, Implementation of all the guidelines of National AIDS Control organization etc.
State President of the Association Shahnawaz Ahmed addressing the protestors said that recently state government has enhanced the salaries of NRHM, RNTCP, NREGS, PMGSY and other contractual employees working under Central Schemes but they have been totally ignored. He said their counterparts from Kashmir province under the leadership of Manzoor Ahmed too are joining protest from tomorrow.
