| District Red Cross Society holds review meeting | | |

A review meeting of the executive committee of the district Red Cross Society, Jammu was held under the chairmanship of the District Development Commissioner, who is also the chairman of DRCS, Jammu.
The activities carries out by the district red cross society, Jammu during last 6 months were discussed and it was informed by the DDC that 13 relief camps have been organized at various places.
The DDC also took serious note of non-implementation of a government order by few educational institutions by virtue of which each institution is to collect Rs.5 up to middle class and Rs.10 from 9th onward per student per annum and 75% of the total collection deposited to district red cross society, Jammu against proper receipt.
A decision to organize red cross mela on the eve of new year was also taken & most of the funds raised from the mela will be utilized for helping physically mentally challenged persons.
Other issues discussed & deliberated upon includes school health check-up programme activities of Junior/Youth red cross, providing of Ist Aid Training and ed cross camp at Jammu.
All the office bearers and members of the executive committee Mukesh Singh SSP (Vice –Chairman) of DRCS), Jammu, DR.Shahid Mughal, CMO, Jammu, Dr. Poonam Dhawan, Jugal Mahajan, Mahesh Gupta, Subash Bali and Dinesh Gupra Executive Secretary of the branch tool active part in the discussions which facilitated unanimous decisions on all the issues discussed.
The services rendered by Brig. (Retd.) K Jagmohan Singh, Ex-Secretary of the IRCS, Jammu Region were remembered and 2 minutes silence was also observed for peace to the departed soul who expired this week.
