| Covering of nallah in Pacca Talab taken up | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 01- JMC Corporator of BJP from Ward No. 17 Balwan Singh got the construction work of covering a nallah passing through Pacca Talab mohalla started in presence of a large number of residents. The work of covering 100 feet long nallah has been undertaken by the UEED department and will cost about three lakh rupees.
Balwan Singh, while speaking on the occasion, said that this nallah was constructed and covered from top a few years ago but due to poor and substandard material used then, it developed cracks and finally its roof dashed to the ground. Thereafter, he approached the department a number of times but it was lingered on again and again. It was only after the intervention of the Jammu West MLA Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta that the department woke up and took the work in hand for its covering.
With the covering of this nallah, the residents of the area will get respite as it used to give foul smell and mosquitoes and other insects causing health problems, he said
BJP Press Secretary Balbir Ram, BJYM State Vice-President Surinder Choudhary, party leaders of the Ward Dalip Kumar, Narinder Sharma, Tirth Ram, Roshan Lal Gill, Mohinder Kumar, Balbir Singh, Harbans Lal, Babu Ram, Rajinder Kumar and Bittu Kumar were also present on the occasion.
