| Slathia tours Vijaypur constituency | | | Early Times Report Jammu January 01: Minister for Industries and Commerce, Mr. S.S. Slathia during his day long tour to Vijaypur constituency today announced Rs.20 lakh for the upgradation and widening of Supwal to Tanda road. Upgradation of the road was a long pending demand of the people of the area. The Minister was accompanied by a team of concerned engineers and officers of various departments. Talking to various deputations during the tour, the Minister said that focus of the government was to improve the road net work in the State, especially, in far flung and inaccessible areas. The state and the Central Governments have provided liberal funds for the purpose, Mr. Slathia added. He further said that the Government was committed to provide all basic amenities to the people of the State. Deputationists also apprised him about their individual and collective problems. These included repair and renovation of lanes and drains, installation of electric poles and replacement of damaged power transformers. The Minister gave a patient hearing and issued on the spot directions for installation of transformer at Supwal village. He also directed for settlement of all the pending old age pension cases.
