Jammu, Jan 2- To discuss modalities for forming a united front to highlight various issues of concern of Kashmiri Pandit displaced community, a joint meeting of various frontline Kashmiri Pandit organizations was held here today

The meeting among others was attended by A.N.Vaishnavi, President-ASKPC, Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, President-Panun Kashmir, D.N.Kissu, Chairman-Noncamp coordination committee, R.K.Raina, Sr. Vice President-ASKPC, H.L.Chatta, General Secretary-ASKPC, Virender Raina, National spokesperson-PK, Ashok Kangan, President-JK Vichar Manch, Subhash Chatta and Rakesh Suri.

The meeting discussed the modalities for forming a united front to highlight various issues of concern of the Kashmiri Pandit displaced community. It was decided unanimously to observe some important community days in a unified manner particularly the 19th January (Holocaust day), 13th July (Black Day) and 14th September (Balidan Divas) henceforth. The meeting also decided to observe 19th January-Holocaust Day this year jointly in Jammu. It was decided to hold a massive protest demonstration on this day to highlight various community issues. The meeting nominated H.L.Chatta as Coordinator of the program and authorized him to contact other KP organizations to associate them with the joint program.

The meeting also expressed serious concern over various political issues bedeviling the community. Members expressed concern that despite massive opposition to the so-called recommendations of the 5th Working Group, the Chief Minister of the State has presented the controversial report to the Prime Minister. The contents of the Report regarding Autonomy, Article 356, Delimitation, Article 370, and pre-1953 position are all retrogressive measures taking the state to medieval times. This will further jeopardize the already precarious conditions of the minorities of the state. The meeting also passed a joint resolution rejecting the contents of the report. The leaders of these organizations also decided to meet in a periodic manner to take joint decisions and strengthen the cause of unity further.
