| NSF leaders visit Samba, seek public cooperation | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 02- Continuing its efforts to reach out common masses and make them aware about alleged bungling in the Jammu University, a team of National Secular Forum (NSF) today interacted with local people of district Samba.
Led by Vikas Sharma, NSF state president, the team was accorded warm welcome by the local people of the district Samba. During the interaction, Vikas told that the Jammu University authorities have been shielding the accused involved in the marks tampering case, besides making all out efforts to harass students and scholars by establishing Police Post in the Campus.
Making a fervent appeal to the local people particularly youth and students to join ongoing agitation, the team said that the mass contact would also be conducted in other parts of Jammu region.
Randeep Singh Chib, district president NSF alleged that the incident of marks tampering has tarnished the image of the university while the authorities concerned have failed to initiate action against the culprits.
“The University authorities are trying to hush up the marks tempering case as senior officers of the University have developed a nexus with the owners of private colleges,” he said, adding that the Police Post is being set up in the name of security only to curb the democratic voice of students.
Local people of district Samba, while appreciating the ongoing activities of the NSF, assured full cooperation and condemned the move of Jammu University to establish Police Post in the campus.
