| Deputy CM asks budding journalists to contribute positively | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 2- Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand today emphasized upon the budding journalists to learn the wits and skills of their trade to contribute effectively towards the development of the State.
He said this while interacting with a group of students of B B Institute of Mass Communication (BBIMC), Gandhi Nagar who called him here today.
The Deputy Chief Minister held one to one interaction with the students and inquired about the kind of training being imparted to them in the institution. He asked them to enhance the sphere of knowledge in all the fields, particularly the contemporary issues being confronted by the country, in general, and state, in particular.
He was apprised by the BBIMC management that Institute, affiliated to Organization for Human Resource Development (OHRD) India, was the first institute in Jammu region offering regular diploma course in Journalism and facilitating full time internship in its own news agency.
On the occasion, he also released the scholarship program of OHRD in Journalism course. Rakesh Bhardwaj, OHRD Chairman, Vikas Gupta, Director, Sunny Sangral, Director BBIMC were also present on the occasion.
Bhardwaj informed, “Scholarship examination is organized to facilitate the students who are interested to pursue career in journalism but, are unable to afford it. The students across the State can take part in this scholarship examination.
Under the program, first five toppers of the scholarship test will be offered 100 per cent fee waiver, next ten will be offered 50 per cent concession while, the other ten will be given 25 percent of fee-waiver, he added.
