Three officers get DGP’s medals

Jammu January 2- The Director General of Police, Mr. Kuldeep Khoda today honoured three officers belonging to the departments other than Jammu and Kashmir Police, with DGP Commendation Medals and Certificates in recognition to their meritorious and exemplary service during 2009.

Lauding the services of these officers, the Director General of Police, Mr. Kuldeep Khoda said that these officers have been honoured in recognition of their professional services put forth by them in their respective positions during the year 2009.

The officers who have been awarded with DGP medals and certificates include Dr. Suresh Kumar Saini, Senior Commandant, Railway Police Force, Northern Railway Srinagar, Mr. A. R. Khan, Deputy Superintendent of Police, J&K Fire Services and Sheikh Mushtaq Ahmed, Manager Sports Council Baramulla.

In addition, 24 SPOs and a VDC member have also been awarded DGP Commendation Medals and Certificates for their outstanding contribution in maintenance of law and order in the State during the year 2009.The awardees include SPOs S/Shri Kuldeep Sharma, Showkat Hussain, Vijay Kumar, Sanjay Kumar, Mohammad Bari, Rafiq Ahmed, Bashir Ahmed, Satpal, Mohammad Yaqoob, Beer Singh, Chand Mohammad, Haneefa Begum, Abdul Subhan Bhat, Irshade Ahmed Mir, Punjab Singh, Javaid Ahmed Sheikh, Harjeet Singh, Sona Ullah Khan, Joginder Singh, Farooq Ahmed Khanday, Mohammad Sabir Khan, Showkat Ahmed and Riyaz Ahmed Gojjar and VDC member Mr. Yash Paul who has also been awarded medal alongwith cash reward of Rs. 10,000.

While awarding the medals and certificates, Mr Khoda said that SPOs are a part of our police force and are serving shoulder to shoulder with Jammu and Kashmir Police and other security agencies across the State. He said that SPOs are doing an important role in maintaining the law and order in the State. He further said that the government has recognized the services of SPOs and has given the relaxation with police regard to age, and qualification to enable them for their absorption in the department.
