| Jammu trains late by 8 hours | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 2: Thousands of tourists, pilgrims and other routine travelers are stranded in Jammu due to a completely derailed schedule of trains coming in going out of Jammu railway station. Though the foggy conditions in most north Indian states, worst in Punjab, have hit the train services the rush in Jammu was unprecedented as thousands of people had come for obeisance at Vaishno Devi shrine and New Year celebrations at different fill resorts. Heavy rush could be seen at the Jammu railway station as thousands of passengers were forced to wait due to non-schedule arrival and departure of trains. Officials of the railways when contacted informed that poor visibility due to the fog is the reason behind the late arrival and departure of the trains. They stated that Malwa express having scheduled time of arrival at 10 AM reached in Jammu at 5.20 PM thus a long delay of 7 hours. In the same way Shalimar, Pooja and Swaraj expresses arrived eight hours late from their schedule time. Further three trains were stopped in Ludhiana due to power failure. As per Divisional Headquarters Firozpur reports reached here Delhi power grid had some technical fault which effect besides partial Delhi Punjab area also. |
