| Bhalla lays foundation of bridge at Nawabad Sunjwan | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, JANUARY 03-In order to overcome the traffic jam problem on Sunjwan-Bhatindi road and to provide hassle free to and fro facilities to the people of the area, the Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Mr. Raman Bhalla today laid foundation of a bridge at Nawabad Sunjwan. The construction work of this bridge would be completed at an estimated cost of Rs. 15 lakh by February 2010.
Addressing a public meeting at Nawabad Sunjwan after laying foundation, the Minister said that road connectivity plays pivotal role for all round development of a society, adding that the Government has initiated massive road developmental programme across the State. He said all the unconnected habitations of the state would be connected with urban areas by 2012. He said at present a number of road projects have been taken up under various State and Central sponsored schemes across the State.
Mr. Bhalla said that the Government under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Omar Abdullah has taken various exemplary initiatives to revolutionise the developmental scenario of the State. He said focused attention is being given to improve basic amenities like water, power supply besides provision of better healthcare and imparting quality education in every nook and corner of the State.
The Minister said that coalition Government has launched various welfare schemes for transformation of socio-economic condition of the people, especially of weaker sections of the State. He called upon the people to come forward and avail benefits of these schemes.
