| Slathia inaugurates Vijaypur-Railway Road | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, JAN 3: Calling upon the people of weaker sections to come forward and avail benefits of welfare schemes, the Minister for Industries and Commerce, Mr. Surjit Singh Slathia has said that State and Central Governments have launched several welfare schemes to uplift the socio-economic condition of the people especially destitute and old aged persons.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister asked the officers of the Social Welfare Department to work with utmost dedication and honesty to percolate the benefits of the welfare schemes to the deserved at their door steps. Mr Slathia said that the coalition government led by Chief Minister Mr Omar Abdullah is committed to provide all possible help to the down trodden population of the state adding that the government is committed to improve the living standard of the people.
Later, the Minister inaugurated Vijaypur-Railway Road Project the work on the said project was completed by in incurring an expenditure of Rs.10 lakh.
Responding to the demands, the Minister said that the Ayurvedic College, at Bari-Brahmana, upgradation of hospital, construction of new school building and installation of streetlights on Vijaypur Railway Road would be taken in hand soon.
