| Autonomy alone can resolve Kashmir : sager | | | Early Times Report Ganderbal, Jan 3: The Minster for Rural Development, Panchayats and Parliamentary Affairs, Mr. Ali Mohammad Sagar has said unnecessary bloodshed and sufferings of the people must come to an end.
While addressing a public gathering at Wakoora in GanderbalDistrict, the Minster stressed upon the leadership of both India and Pakistan to resolve the Kashmir issue through serious negotiations and continue the dialogue process.
Reiterating his stand on autonomy as the best solution to the vexed Kashmir issue, Mr. Sagar said that through autonomy, people of the state will enjoy more power to govern themselves. However, he made it clear that if better alternatives to autonomy are putforth, can also be considered.
Mr. Sagar said that the present government has articulated a development strategy to improve the overall development scenario of the state and every endeavour will be made to realize this goal.
To tackle unemployment problem, Mr. Sagar said that over one lakh unemployed youth would be provided employment within the next five years. He said that under the leadership of Mr. Omar Abdullah, the government has filled 29000 non gazetted and 1500 gazetted posts during the past one year. He said that 40000 class IV posts will be filled soon in the state.
He assured people of Ganderbal that a comprehensive development programme has been started in the district adding that the district would serve as a Model District of the state. He further assured that the central university will be established at Ganderbal and local youth would be provided job opportunities in the university.
Mr. G.M. Saloora and MLC Mr. Ali Mohammad Bhat also spoke on the occasion.
Earlier, Mr. Sagar laid the foundation stone of new block development office at Wakoora to be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 41.47 lakh . the minister was informed that Rs. 56 lakh are being utilized under NREGA in Wakoora block while as Rs. 13.10 lakh to be distributed under IAY scheme in the block.
