| NSUI State president tours south Kashmir | | | Early Times Report Shopian, Jan, 3- To take stock of the student’s issues of South Kashmir, NSUI State leadership conducted an extensive 4-day tour of Anantnag, Kulgam and Shopian districts. Led by state president Rashid Choudhary, NSUI team visited South Kashmir region for an interaction with the youth and the students, listening to their problems and formation of its units at block, college and school levels. It is for the first time since the Shopian turmoil of May-June 2009 that any politically backed organization has done some activity in the district. Various delegate meetings were held at Anantnag, Kulgam and Shopian, at which Students from the region came up with their issues and problems. Rashid Choudhary assured the participants that their demands would be raised with the concerned authorities. . The team also visited Degree College at Anantnag and Shopian and urged the authorities for better facilities for the students. Choudhary said a lot is to be done to make these Colleges fully functional. Students complained of the shortage of teaching staff at the school and college level. In the delegates meet at Shopian the local students passed a resolution demanding evacuation of security forces from the educational institutions. In his interaction Choudhary invited the students to join NSUI to make the hands of secular forces and Rahul Gandhi stronger. He appealed them not to fall prey to the anti national forces and assured that NSUI will fight for their cause. On the occasion a large number of students joined NSUI. Others who spoke on the occasion were Rashid Ahmed Malik, Asad Mir, Aijaz Jan, Mubashir Bhat and Asyia Naz.
