| 52 bovines recovered, 6 truck seized,8 smuggler arrested | | | JAMMU | OCT 7 On tip off, 40 bovines and five trucks were seized by police at Ramban today. According to reports a police party led by SHO Ramban, Mohd. Aziz Khan during routine checking at a naka posted five trucks and found 40 bovines inside. All the bovines were being smuggled to Kashmir by the smugglers who were six in number. The arrested persons area Mohd. Ashraf s/o Ab Kahalid R/o Ganderbal, Javed Ahmad S/o Abdul Subhan R/o Chambal Vass, Banihal, Mohd. Yassin S/o Mohd Sultan R/o Srinagar, Sabzar S/o Mohd. Yusif R/o Banihal, Mushtaq Ahmed S/o Abdul Rasheed of Banihal and Ghulam Nabi Mir S/o Ghulam Mohideen R/o Banihal. All the smugglers have been pout under interrogation and have confessed that were involved in the business for the last couple of years. The seized trucks have been registered under no JK01A-6504, Jk02-4415, JK01A-4413, JKE-2066 and JK02G-8425. Police have registered case in this regard and started investigation. Meanwhile two bovine smugglers were arrested by the Sidhra police here today. As per reports the SHO, Nagrota, Prob. Dy SP Ifroz Ahmed form Jammu to Kashmir in a truck, under no JK02-9237, directs the Chowki officer, Sidhra police station; Chowki officer S.I, Khalil Ahmed to laid a naka. During the checking of vehicles, the said truck was seized and on search 12 bovine’s animals were found inside the truck. The truck along with the bovine was seized and two persons were arrested. The arrestees have been identified as Nazir Ahmed S/o Ghulam Rassol R/o Kokernag, Distt Anantnag and other is Ahmed Mir, S/o Abdul Gani of Shopian. During interrogation both the accused confessed that they were smuggling them to Kashmir. A case has been registered against them.
