| Saraswati Dramatic Club organizes meet-cum- get together | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 3- Saraswati Dramatic Club, Panjtirthi, today organized a meeting cum get-together. Club President Ashok Khajuria, who is also the sitting MLA of Jammu East Assembly Constituency presided. More than 200 office bearers, members and artists associated with the Club participated in the meeting.
Ashok Khajuria, while chairing the meeting, said that Saraswati Dramatic Club is one of the oldest Clubs working for promotion of Dogra culture and staging the annual Ram Leela in order to make the younger generation aware of the religious values. He said the Ram Leela was started at this historical place many years ago and with the each passing year more and more people joined it. It produced artists of excellence and new artists feel proud to be associated with it. He said the progress it has made is appreciable and today we can claim to be a part of such an association which has all along worked to bring people closer, strengthen the social fabric and promote brotherhood as well.
The participants gave a number of suggestions to make the Club more popular among the Jammuites as also to start some new programs to educate the youth about rich Hindu culture and also to aware the society of the bad affects of drugs.
MLC Naresh Gupta from Bhaderwah, who also attended the meeting, said that such Clubs are of more importance in these days when the so-called modern and educated society is forgetting the social bindings and adopting the western culture. He assured of his full co-operation in Club’s activities, as it is a social cause.
Club office bearers and members including Rajiv Gupta, Ashwani Sudan, Sudhakar Khajuria, Daya krishan Sharma, J.C.Bharti, Hira Lal Verma, Bua Dass, Pushpinder Kumar, Neelu Malia, Happy Sharma, Rupa Mehra, Mohan Lal Raina , Arun Gupta, Subhash Puri, Nartesh Abrol, Deepu Sharma, Sunil Sharma, Sham Sunder, Ajay Khajuria and dozens of artists associated with the Club took part in the meeting-cum get together.
