| Abortive bid to blow up CRPF bunker | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Jan 3: Militants had made an abortive bid to blow up a road side bunker of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) at Lal chowk, the nerve centre of summer capital Srinagar.
Official sources today said militants hurdled a hand grenade towards CRPF bunker at Lal chowk. However, the grenade did not explode.
The area was immediately cordoned off and those present were taken to safety.
Later, the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) was summoned and the grenade was diffused without causing any damage.
This was the first such attack in the civil lines by militants during 2010 |
