| Army organizes eye, medical camp at Ghordi | | | Sarita Jamwal Udhampur, Jan 4- Under Operation Sadbhavana Sky Rippers Regiment in collaboration with Northern Command Hospital and Primary Health Centre Ghordi inaugurated a camp with a view to provide free eye checkup, medical aid and treatment to people of the villages in and around Ghordi.
The camp was inaugurated by Col KJS Dhaliwal, Officiating Commander Northern Command AD Brigade. Many civilian dignitaries, senior serving officers, village heads, ex-servicemen were present on the occasion. Due to the presence of specialist doctors, the camp drew large crowds of patients from Ghordi and its adjoining villages. Nearly 800 civilians and children were benefited from the camp. In addition to the Eye-cum-Medical checkups free medicines were given to the patients apart from immunizing children. Information with regard to Ex-servicemen Contributory Health scheme, resettlement of directorate and the Zila Sainik Board was provided also provided to the ex-servicemen at the camp. The Army has been organizing such camps in the past as well to provide the much needed relief to people of the areas where only small dispensaries are currently functional. A few cases of prolonged illness were referred to Command Hospital for further treatment.
