Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 04: Due to extensive cold, a Vaishno Devi pilgrim today died of cardiac arrest while he was on way to the cave shrine of the goddess in the Trikuta Hills.Police sources said Ashwani Kumar (41) of Amritsar, Punjab, was on his way to the holy cave shrine when he developed pain in his chest at Ban Ganga.He was shifted by police to the Katra hospital where he later died. Quoting doctors, sources said he had died of cardiac arrest. The body was later handed over to his family members, who were accompanying him, for last rites. Meanwhile, a woman pilgrim was last night hit by a landslide, triggered by heavy rains in Trikuta Hills, as a result of which she was injured. Identified as Anita Arora, she hails from New Delhi.Police said she was moving on the track when the landslide occured. Though all others walking beside her were saved, she was wounded, police added. She was admitted to the Katra Hospital.
