| 60% of plan funds spent in Samba | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, JANUARY 06 - Deputy Chief Minister, Mr. Tara Chand today had a detailed review of physical and financial achievements registered in Samba district under current year’s annual plan. Minister for Industries and Commerce, Mr. S.S. Slathia, MP Ch. Lal Singh, legislators Mr. Harshdev Singh, Mr. Yash Paul Kundal Mr. Durga Dass, Mr. Subash Gupta, Presidents Municipal Committees, HODs of various departments and district officers attended the meeting. District Development Commissioner, Mr. Saurabh Bhagat, presented a brief description of achievements registered during current financial year sofar. Addressing the meeting, the Deputy Chief Minister appreciated the District Administration for effectively implementing the decisions of last District Development Board meeting and hoped that targets fixed for current fiscal under various sectors would be achieved fully. He exhorted upon the concerned authorities to work in double shifts to complete the ongoing projects. Deputy Chief Minister directed the District Development Commissioner to conduct field visits especially of far flung areas to ensure execution of quality works. He said follow-up was imperative for expediting work on the ongoing projects to ensure their timely completion. Mr. Tara Chand reviewed sector wise progress and called for close synergy between various departments to achieve the set targets within stipulated time frame. The meeting was informed that out of the total plan allocation of Rs.34.41, about Rs. 22.61 Cr have been expended, registering 66 percent expenditure. Addressing the meeting, Mr. Slathia urged for inclusion of Mandies of Samba in Municipal Committee limits he also called for augmenting power availability from 5MVA to 10 MVA to accelerate the Industrial pace in the area, he also stressed for streamlining the implementation of NREGA. He asked the Chairman to keep a provision of 1 crore as untied grants at the disposal of DDC to meet expenditure for unforeseen demands. The legislators highlighted their demands and grievances confronting the people and sought their redressal. Later several deputations from Samba and Ghagwal also met the Deputy Chief Minister and sought redressal of their grievances.
