| Academy organizes traditional music program | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 6- In order to promote traditional music and folklore, the Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages organized a traditional music program at Lalyal on Wednesday. The function was presided over by the local sarpanch Mahinder Singh. Earlier welcoming the participants Special Officer, Culture, Shamima Akhtar said that the state Cultural Academy would continue to organize such programs in future also so as to keep traditional music alive. The event saw participation of many major traditional music parties. Prominent among those included Ved Prakash and party, Shamsher and party, Madan Lal and party, Ganga Ram and party and Shiv Ram and party. Besides school children several people witnessed the music performance at Lalyal village of block Satwari. Speaking on the sidelines of the music program, the local panchayat sarpanch Mahinder Singh applauded the Cultural Academy for what he described as genuine efforts for developing and promoting traditional music forms and folklore.
