| Anganwadi workers stage protest dharna | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 6-Anganwadi Workers and Helpers staged protest dharna outside Divisional Commissioner office here today on the call of Jammu Chalo given by the Anganwadi Workers and Helpers Union.
Large number of Anganwadi workers and helpers assembled here at Mubrak Mandi and held protest demonstration in support of their demands. They also raised slogans against the Government and in support of their demands
The protesting Anganwadi workers and helpers demanded enhancement of wages of Anganwadi workers and helpers from State share at par with Central Government share, regularization of workers, declaration of promotion list of Anganwadi workers as Supervisor, pending for the last more than two years, implementation of contributory pension scheme , release of pending wages of Anganwadi workers and helpers of Rajouri and Poonch from 2006, timely release of rent of the centres, amendment of recruitment rules of both Gazetted and Non-Gazetted staff of ICDS, removal of pay anomalies of ICDS Supervisor.
Mohammed Gafoor Dar State President of the Union warned the state Government not to test the patience of woman workers of ICDS failing which they will intensify the agitation. Among others who addressed the dharna were Suman Suri, Hanifa Gagroo, Nagina Kounser, Savita Kakar, Gulshan Ara, Usha Sharma and Renu Sharma.
