| Join hands to curb terrorism: Corps to anti-insurgency forces | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 06: Observing that the coming days were crucial in view of the Republic Day celebrations, the Core Group of anti-insurgency forces in the state today resolved to share intelligence on the movement of militants. In a meeting held at the headquarters of White Knight Corps, Nagrota, the group felt that there was an urgent need of coordination amongst the anti-insurgency forces to foil the nefarious designs of the anti-national elements, who were hell-bent to create trouble in the state.The group decided to keep police and security forces on extra vigil to ensure incident-free conduct of Republic Day. According to official sources, the meeting reviewed the security situation in Jammu region in light of the forthcoming events of Republic Day. Speaking on the occasion, 16 Corps GOC and Security Advisor, Lt Gen Rameshwar Roy, however, complimented security forces, intelligence agencies and civil administration for achieving peerless synergy, enviable harmony and immense coordination amongst themselves towards a common and national cause and also for handling internal security situation in Jammu region. He attributed the downward slide in terrorism to the jointmanship amongst the entire security set up in the state. He stressed the need to maintain continuous pressure and moral ascendancy over terrorists, who had by and large been marginalized. He said that coming few months were crucial and security forces needed to be extra vigilant to nutralize the designs of anti-national elements. The meeting ended with a resolve to share intelligence, maintain continuous pressure on terrorists and ensure that complete peace was maintained in the region. Apart from Lt Gen Roy, the meeting was attended by civil, police, PMF and army officers, including DGP, special DG CRPF, ADGP CID, Divisional Commissioner , Jammu, Commissioner SB, IG Police, Jammu, IG BSF and others.
