| 31 SPOs regularized | | | Early Times Report Srinagar Jan 07 Director General of Police (DGP), Kuldeep Khoda said that Special Police Officers (SPOs) of Jammu and Kashmir Police showing exemplary performance in bringing peace in the state would be rewarded suitably. DGP Khoda was speaking while handing over the appointment orders to 31 SPOs of South Kashmir as Constables at a function held today at District Police Lines Pulwama. He said that these SPOs have shown good performance while dealing the law and order situation and bringing the peace and normalcy in the state. He said these SPO have been fighting in tough and extremely hostile conditions and have been putting their life at stake while fighting the terrorists. They have also ensured to avoid collateral in different operations at various places. The DGP said that the government has recently accorded sanction for conversion of these SPOs as Constables after giving relaxation in their age and qualification on the basis of their good performance. The SPOs appointed as Constables are nine from district Anantnag, eight from Pulwama, seven from Kulgam and seven from Awantipora of South Kashmir. Among others, the function was attended by Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Zone, Mr. Farooq Ahmad, SSP Anantnag, Mr. Showkat Ahmad Malik, SSP Pulwama, Syed Kifiyat Hyder, SP Kulgam Mr. Keshav Ram, SP Shopian, Mr. Shahid Mehraj, SP Awantipora, Mr. Bashir Ahmad Khan and other police officers.
