| Rajesh appointed BJP district President Jammu Mahanagar | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 7- Rajesh Gupta, JMC corporator from Ward No. 5 was elected unopposed as District President of Jammu Mahanagar BJP The result was declared by District Returning Officer Ch. Sukhnandan (MLA) at party headquarters today in presence of dozens of party activists. Ch. Sukhnandan also declared that Dr. Nirmal Singh, Kavinder Gupta and Surinder Sharma have been elected as members of the State Council. Rajesh Gupta was congratulated by the BJP State President Ashok Khajuria and other party leaders and garlanded by them. The party activists also distributed sweets after the announcement of the results. Similarly, Thakur Chaggar Singh was also unanimously elected as District President for the Kathua district for which the result was declared by District Returning officer Bali Bhagat at Kathua. State Election Incharge Sat Sharma declared that elections at the districts level have been completed today and the party high command has been intimated about the same with a request to fix the date for the election of the State President and deputing the State Observer for the purpose. It may be recalled that Bharatiya Janata Party undertakes the organizational elections after every three years and it was for the first time that the party had decided to hold election at the booth level and constitute the team at the lowest level to reach more and more people and get them enrolled with the party in order to further strengthen it. A number of party leaders congratulated Rajesh Gupta on being elected as District President Jammu Mahanagar.
