| Coalition’s one year hopeless , unspiring : Chaman | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 7- Describing the first year of the NC-Congress as ‘year of broken promises’ the BJP Legislators Party leader, Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta has said lowering of guards resulting in spurt in infiltration bids as also increased acts of terrorism and secessionist activities coupled with sowing of pernicious seed of Sagir Ahmed Report have great bearing on the very unity of the country. Addressing a gathering at Durganagar in his Jammu West Assembly Constituency here today, Prof. Gupta said that ‘as feared the unholy re-union of the jilted lovers viz the National Conference-Congress like their alliance in the past too, has brought more problems than any good in their governance’. He charged the coalition dispensation of having utterly failed in keeping up their promises with the employees and Daily wagers resulting in Hartals, fasts and anti-Government demonstrations but instead of tackling their problems, the agitators were dealt with lathies and teargas, he added and deplored the behaviour of the ruling dispensation in brutally beating the Daily Rated workers who were demanding their wages and regularizing of their much promised services. Referring to the spate of Dharnas and anti-Government demonstrations, Prof. Gupta maintained that all this speaks volumes about the failure of this Government. The soaring prices and missing of rations at outlets, is adding to the miseries and sufferings of the common man. The poor supply of electricity and so many other problems are witness to the missing of the authority of worth the name. However, an attempt is being made to cover up their failures by unleashing propaganda campaigns through advertisements and misusing the official resources, he added and observed that ground realities cannot be covered by launching media campaign. Taking a strong exception to the withdrawal of about 30,000 troops from sensitive areas and lowering of guards under various internal and external pressures, the BJP leader said that whatever the security forces had achieved over the years through their blood and great sufferings, is being lost under amusing slogans of ‘Quiet Diplomacy’ although it has generated more noise than any silence and peace. This is very evident from the increased activities of the secessionists and votaries of limited accession with India under the ill-conceived slogans of Autonomy and Self-Rule as if at present this State is not having autonomy and their own Governance. Assailing the manner in which retired Justice Sagir Ahmed had formulated and submitted his report, Prof Gupta said that this Report is bound to add now communal and regional dimensions and the days to come are to be testing time for the nationalists especially those of Jammu who have been denied fair play in the democratic process and even the demand for Delimitation of Assembly constituencies. He asked the people to prepare themselves for the testing times ahead. The gathering was also addressed by Corporator Pushpa Wazir and Youva Morcha leader Sanjay Baru. Earlier, Prof. Gupta inaugurated a Water Pump in the locality.
