| Pickpocket targets JU professor; nabbed | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 07: A pickpocket, who stole money from the pocket of a Jammu University (JU) professor at the railway station here this evening, was arrested by police while he was trying to leave the station.JU Professor, Dr Purshotam lodged a complaint with police that someone had stolen Rs 4,500 from his pocket at the railway station. Cops soon swung into action and caught hold of the pickpocket while he was trying to leave the station and melt into the nearby lanes. Police sources identified him as Vijay Verma of Agra. He was at present putting up at Railway Colony, which adjoins the railway station. The stolen cash was recovered from him and handed over to the professor, the sources added. A case under section 379 of RPC was registered against him at the railway police station.
