| JMC demolishes unauthorised structures | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Jan 8
Stepping up its drive against unauthorized construction, the Enforcement Wing of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) today demolished four shops and one hall in different city parts which were being raised without seeking permission from the corporation. Led by Joint Commissioner (A) Babu Ram, the enforcement team comprised Assistant Commissioner (Revenue), Chief Enforcement Officer, Enforcement Officers assisted by police personnel inspected different areas and checked the ongoing constructions. “The team demolished one hall at Sarwal, one shop at Barnai near Anuradha Banquet hall and three shops at Muthi were demolished as these construction were being raised without any permission,” said official reports. The team also asked the defaulters to seek proper building permission from JMC before going for construction. Commissioner JMC, Mubarak Singh has directed the staff to keep strict vigil and ensure that no unauthorized construction take place in their respective areas. Besides, the team while continuing anti-encroachment drive seized about three truck load of goods found on pavements and footpaths being encroached by shopkeepers and vendors from the areas of Bantalab and Nai Basti.
