| Controversy in JKCA seems to be over at the moment | | | Srinagar, Oct 8 The Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) today claimed that the recent controversy over withdrawal of funds from banks and calling of unauthorised working committee meetings seemed to have been partially resolved by the October 4 order of the High Court.
In a press release here, JKCA honorary general secretary Salim Ahmed Khan said that the Jammu and Kashmir High Court in its order on October 4 has directed that withdrawal of funds from the association's bank accounts would be done by the Principal District Judge, Srinagar till final disposal of the appeals.
The high court had also transferred all the appeals pertaining to the affairs and disputes concerning the JKCA from the court of second Additional District Judge, Srinagar to the Principal District Judge, who has been asked to ensure these were decided within two months from the next date of hearing on October 29.
By another order passed by the second Additional Munsif, Srinagar on October 4, it has been held that it was not within the JKCA Chairman's jurisdiction to prevent the general secretary from functioning on his post, the release said.
The court also directed that until and unless the recommendations for suspension of the general secretary made by the Chairman on July 18 was not confirmed by the JKCA President, he cannot be prevented from functioning as such, it added.
JKCA President Farooq Abdullah has already on August 31 set aside the suspension of Ghulam Mohammad Ronga as the Working committee member and not accepted the recommendations for suspension of Salim Khan as the General Secretary, the release said.
It said that the President further held that the working committee meeting of July 18 was unauthorised and as such all decisions taken by it were ''inoperative, invalid, illegal, null and void and also not in accordance with the rules.'' The President also noted that some members permitted by the JKCA Chairman to participate in the working committee meeting on July 18 were ''fake and ineligible members.'' Therefore, the release said, the suspension of Ronga and Khan has not been up held by the court of law or by the JKCA President and both these members continue to function on their posts.
