| RS College of education celebrates Annual day | | | Early Times Report Kathua , Jan 08 RS College of education organized an annual day function in which students of the college performed cultural activities. Minister for the higher education Abdul Gani Malik was the chief guest on the occasion and said that the students from the neighboring states studying in the private college of education are beautifully showcasing the culture of their respective state by performing the culture activities in the function. Meanwhile the minister of higher education Abdul Gani Malik also attended the symposium on “an individual’s role to prevent the global warming” organised by the Rajiv Gandhi college of education where the minister said that the government is very serious about the concerns of the global warming but the fact is that the every person should come forward to strike a balance between the development processes and its impacts over the environments for which the consequences is the growing threat of the global warming. He further said that the large scale expansion and up gradation are inevitable in education sector and the government is going to invest huge money in this sector and the govt. enhanced the investment from 7.5% to 19% to improve the quality of the education in the state. Minister said that the 6th Pay Commission has given an edge to the Government teachers’ vis-à-vis private institutions and more steps will be taken by the Government to bring educational institutions at par with the private sector. He said that both private and Government educational institutions are part of our system and quality education should be their motto and Government is committed to improve the quality of education. He also desired to use IT as a tool to bring revolution in this sector. On the occasion the minister was accompanied by Hon’ble MLA Kathua Sh. Charanjit Singh, Chairman of RS College of education Sh. Kishore Bakshi, and Chairman of Rajiv Gandhi College of education Sh. Pankaj Dogra, Adl. Dc Kathua Sh. Daulat Ram Sharma and Retd S.P Sardar khan. Later a deputation led by District Youth President of NC Mr. Harpreet Singh Sethi and student wing president Rohit Khajuria met the minister and apprised him of the problems being faced by youth of far flung areas in absence of employment offices and also highlighted the problems of fare concession to students in public transport. Minister gave patient hearing to the deputation and ensured them of looking in to their problems.
