Early Times report JAMMU, JANUARY 9 – The Governor, Mr. N. N. Vohra, inaugurated a photo exhibition on the life and times of the former Chief Minister, late Mr. G. M. Shah, organized in connection with his first death anniversary, at Press Club, here this evening. The Governor went around the exhibition and evinced keen interest in the photographs which, he said, should be converted into a photo album with suitable commentary on the dates, names and occasions. More than 200 photographs have been displayed at the exhibition. The Governor also launched the website of the G. M. Shah Foundation on the occasion. In his observations the Governor, referring to his meeting with late Mr. Shah in 2003, said that among the many suggestions made by him he had stressed the usefulness of initiating a well-planned intra Jammu and Kashmir dialogue. The Governor mentioned that the dialogue process initiated by the former Prime Minister, Mr. Atal Bihari Vajpayee led Government had been vigorously carried forward by the Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh. He said that though the dialogue process had got stalled due to several grave incidents on our soil, perpetrated with external support and execution, the people-to-people exchanges have been continuing. He believed that, in due course, when certain essential issues get resolved, the dialogue would also re-commence. The wife of late Mr. Shah, Mrs. Khaleda Shah, his son, Mr. Muzaffar Shah, former Ministers, Mr. Gulchain Singh Charak and Mr. Mohammad Dilawar Mir, former MP, Sheikh Abdul Rehman, prominent social and political activists were present on the occasion.
