| RDD House Committee inspects works on model villages of Vijaypur, Samba | | | JAMMU, October 08 Member Legislative Council and Chairman Departmental House Committee for Rural Development Department Mr. Bilal Ahmad Khan Lodhi today conducted an extensive tour of Ramgarh, Vijaypur and Samba blocks to review the ongoing construction work of model villages of Rangoor and Bari Kamila. Among others who accompanied the Chairman Departmental House Committee for Rural Development Department included MLCs Mr. Ali Mohammad Sofi and Mr. Ghulam Nabi Lone, Director Rural Development Mr. Guldev Raj Bhagat, District Panchayat Officer-Cum-Assistant Development Commissioner Mrs. Indu Chib, Block Development Officers Mr. Mohammad Yusuf Malik and Mr. Bholla Nath Sharma After inspecting the construction work of model villages, Mr. Lodhi and asked the engineers to remain present in their headquarters and work with zeal and dedication for the welfare of general masses. He directed the engineers to complete the ongoing construction work of model villages before March 2007 so that people do not face any inconvenience. He asked the villagers of Samba and Vijaypur to cooperate with the government agencies for ensuring early completion of projects. He asked the engineers to use quality material in the works. He said that the present government is making tireless efforts to provide basic minimum amenities to all sections of society at their doorsteps which include improved road connectivity, opening of new schools, electricity and drinking water facilities. Interacting with the border belt villagers, Mr. Lodhi said that the economy is shaping to meet the challenges of providing better quality of life for common people and present Government plays a vital role in making education, health care, housing, drinking water and other basic amenities available to the people especially to poor and the underprivileged. He said that emphasis has been laid on greater monitoring of Rural Development programmes and the stress has been laid on construction of Rural Roads for better connectivity, Restructured self employment programmes, Rural Housing and drinking water programmes continued to be implemented and monitored. He said that other various schemes in Rural Development Programmes can revolutionize the economic conditions of Rural populace for which the officers have to make concerted efforts. Later, the team also inspected the ongoing development works which included construction of link roads of Ramgarh-Kandral, Bana Check besides CICs at Bari Kamila and Ragoor.
