| Central team visits Baghliar | | | EarLy Times Report
JAMMU, JAN 9: The Central team comprising senior Advisor, DS Kala, Deputy Advisor, B.B Sharma , Planning Commission of India and the Commissioner Secretary, Government of Jammu and Kashmir, Planning Department, Mr. B.B. Vayas today visited 450 MW Bagilhar Hydro Electric Project, Chanderkote, Ramban and inspected the dam site. The Engineers of the project briefed them about the power generation and other functions of the project.
Among others District Development Commissioner, Ramban Mr. K.B. Magotra, SSP, M. Latiefee, Chief Engineer, Baglihar Project, Mr. Baljit Singh Jamwal, Chief Engineer, Generation Jammu, Mr. Ajay Gupta , Executive Engineer(R&B) Mr. Darbari all the engineers of the peojects, Police and Civil Officers of District Ramban.
The team took stock of the progress and achievements of the Stage Ist and the proposed Stage II.
The Project Authorities informed the officers that Stage Ist stand commercially commissioned from April this year, while as all the preparations have been made for the submission of revised DPR (detail project report) of Stage II nd by the end of this January so that the execution of Bagalihar Project phase IInd would be started from April 2010 as scheduled.
The District Development Commissioner also gave the details about the progress of the district with special refence of National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA) SSA and National Rural Health Mission. He further informed that Electro-mechanical components of the project include three 150 MW Francis Turbines, three 168 MVA vertical shaft synchronous generations, ten eposy type class F insulation, ten 16.5/400 KV.60 MVA single phase transformers, 400 KV SF6 gas insulated switchgear and two 150 tonnes EOT cranes.
The annual generation from the project will be about 2800 million units on a 90 % dependable year basis. It is pertinent to say here that on the completion of the full project, it will promote pisiculture, tourism and sports in the area.
