| Two killed, 14 injured in Bhaderwah accident | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 09: Two persons were killed and 13 others, including the driver, wounded when the minibus in which they were travelling skidded off the road at Pranu in Bhaderwah this evening and fell into Neeru nullah.
The ill-fated minibus (JK06/905), which was on its way to Doda, left the Bhaderwah minibus stand at about 3.30 pm.Police sources said the minibus reached Parnu, where a part of the road is broken, at about 4.15 pm. To avoid the dilapidated road stretch, he turned the vehicle to the extreme right where the road was smooth, the sources added.
Sources said when the vehicle had covered a distance of about 50 metres, the road sank and slid downwards as a result of which it rolled down into the nullah.
Soon after the mishap, some passersby ran to the rescue of the injured. Police also joined them later.
Sources said all the injured were evacuated in police and private vehicles to the Doda district hospital where Fareed Ahmad (27) of Koti was pronounced brought dead by the doctors.Basant Raj (45) of Dranga, who had sustained multiple injuries, also died later.Three persons were referred to the GMC Hospital here following deterioration in their condition. They were identified as Fareed's father Mohammad Abdullah, Yassar Ahmad and Ashok Kumar.
Those undergoing treatment at the Doda hospital were identified as driver Majid Hussain of Malni, Rakesh Kumar of Parshola, Prithvi Raj of Parshola, Farooq Ahmad of Malni,
Abdul Rashid of Palmar, Farooq Ahmad of Nai Dangri, Fareed Ahmad of Borri, Shabir Ahmad of Harshi, Mubassar Hussain of Kishtwar, Surinder Singh of Jodhpur, Parjeet Kumar of Parihot. Their condition was stated to be out of danger.
The concerned police have registered a case in this connection.
