Early Times Report JAMMU, JANUARY 10 - A team of Planning Commission of India today inspected Centrally Sponsored Projects in Srinagar. The team comprises of Advisor to Planning Commission, Mr. D.S. Kala and Deputy Advisor, Mr. G.B. Sharma. The Commissioner/ Secretary Planning and Development, Mr. B. B. Vyas, District Development Commissioner, Srinagar, Mr. Meraj Ahmed Kakroo, Vice Chairman, LAWDA, Mr. Irfan Yaseen and concerned engineers and officers accompanied the central team.
The team inspected water treatment Plant, Brari Nambal being constructed at a cost of Rs. 2.16 crore. The project is expected to be completed in December 2010. The team also inspected under construction Water Supply Scheme Rangil-Phase-II which on completion would provide drinking water facilities to about 1.10 lakh souls of Palpora, Gratabal, Umar Abad, Zakoora, Tengpora, Batmalloo etc. areas, the team also inspected 148 metre Span bridge at Palpora being constructed under State sector. The bridge is estimated to cost Rs. 11.65 crore, would connect Palpora with Shalteng.
Later, the team took stock of pace of work on Dr. Ali Jan Road being constructed at a cost of Rs. 20 crore.
The central team also inspected Primary Health Centre, Hazratbal, Sewerage treatment plant, Lam Nishat and also inspected Dal cleaning operations.
Later, the Central team went to Baramulla and inspected several school buildings, I.C.D.S centres district Hospital building and Sangrama- Sopore road in district Baramulla.
The District Development Commissioner, Baramulla, Mr. Lateef-ud-Zama Deva accompanied the team during the inspection.
